TIME AND TIME AGAIN by Indigo Creative.

TIME AND TIME AGAIN is a thoughtful exploration of friendship, memory and change, brought to life through a mix of physical theatre, music and visual storytelling. The piece follows Zoe and Becca, two childhood friends who grew up together in Hong Kong. We witness their formative moments – singing, laughing and strengthening a bond that feels unbreakable, resulting in Zoe’s promise to one day be Becca’s bridesmaid.

However, when Zoe is accepted to study in London, the pair are pulled in different directions. As their lives change – with Zoe climbing the career ladder and Becca preparing for marriage, the pair struggle to maintain their connection. The show offers poignant snapshots of their attempts to stay in touch, capturing the emotional distance that can grow even between the closest of friends.

Zoe and Becca’s onstage chemistry is undeniable, their true dynamic clearly shining through in their performances. At times, the storytelling feels a little surface level with certain scenes skimming over the complexities of their evolving relationship, which left me craving a deeper dive into their emotional journeys.

That said, the way TIME AND TIME AGAIN uses physicality is a real strength. The performers use space and props in clever, meaningful ways to build a rich visual narrative that complements the emotional core of the piece. The message, about the fragility of childhood friendships in the face of distance, cultural shifts and drifting paths is a resonant and tender one.

TIME AND TIME AGAIN is on for the last time tonight, 26th May at 9pm at the Lantern Theatre, Brighton! Tickets available here.
